Gratitude - a spectacular outdoor public art installation which brought together 51 uniquely-designed human form sculptures, all designed by individual artists and sponsored by different businesses who wanted to acknowledge key workers and pay tribute to the NHS.
The sculpture is a simple human form – neither male nor female – and a canvas that enabled the artists to create many different designs on one sculpture and interpret it in their own creative style.
The sculptures were revealed for the first time at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in September 2020. The Creative Director for the exhibit, Dame Zandra Rhodes designed one of the 51 sculptures depicting a rainbow of lilies in honour of the NHS and all key workers during the pandemic.
Gratitude launched in Birmingham in August 2021 before touring the UK, taking in Manchester, Edinburgh and London.
Marcella was sponsored by Hiscox Insurance for her piece ‘Blooming Marvellous’ which raised over £4,000 when it was auctioned for the event.
